Matto Pizza's Newington branch opened in December 2023, the third site for a small Edinburgh group that began in Meadowbank in 2020. The kitchen makes dough fresh each day and bakes Neapolitan-style pizzas in a wood-fired oven at around 500C, so each one is out in under a minute. The numbered pizza list runs from a plain tomato-and-basil version up to combinations with nduja, wild boar salami or truffle, alongside fried seafood sides, salads and a Biscoff dessert calzone. Collection, Deliveroo and table bookings are all available.
