Peeza's listings are built from open, licensed data sources — plus the check-ins, ratings and photos contributed by our community, which belong to Peeza and its members.
The authoritative registry of UK food businesses. Peeza's UK venue listings are built from this open data.
Open global places data, keyed on persistent open identifiers (GERS). Used to broaden coverage beyond the UK.
Community map data, used to cross-reference and verify venue details.
Where a venue publishes its own website, Peeza reads that first-party site offline to record factual details — opening hours, menu items, contact details and dough provenance. Facts are not copyrightable and those we keep. The venue's photographs remain the venue's copyright: we display them with a credit and a link back, and we do not claim them as Peeza's. We honour robots.txt, skip aggregators and social networks, and never touch login-walled or personal data.
Venue descriptions are written by Peeza from the facts we gathered, not copied or paraphrased from the venue's own marketing copy. Each one is checked for verbatim overlap against its source before publication. This text is Peeza's own copyright.
Peeza stores one piece of Google data and one only: a venue's Google place ID, which the Places terms permit keeping and which powers accurate Maps directions links. We do not store or display Google's photos, opening hours, reviews or ratings. Map tiles, where shown, are rendered live by Google under Maps Platform terms.
Community data
Check-ins, ratings, reviews and photos are contributed by Peeza members and stored by Peeza. Every venue records where its data came from, so open data and community data stay clearly separated.
What we don't do
- No scraping of TripAdvisor, Google reviews, Deliveroo, Instagram, or other third-party platforms for venue content.
- No storing of Google Places content beyond the place ID — no Google photos, hours, reviews or ratings are cached or displayed.
- No claiming a venue's photographs or marketing copy as Peeza's own.
- No request-time crawling — enrichment runs offline with explicit provenance fields.
- No collection of personal data from venue sites (accounts, emails behind forms, etc.).
- No bypassing of robots.txt or paywalls.
